Running is something that I am very passionate about. It’s my way of escaping and switching off from reality. I find great satisfaction in the different sections of my runs, the distance, elevation and heart rate, these final statistics are important to me as I find myself in competition with myself.
I wanted to experiment using a technique I had not used before, which was triggered by the deconstruction of my running trainer. I wanted to see which part of the trainer had the most wear, this then led me to experiment with paper embossing where I was able to see fine details on the paper which were on the trainer.
This is a personal artwork that celebrates how far I have come throughout my running journey. I designed a set of three posters, consisting of an embossed shoe lace representing each section of one of my long runs. The posters are to be presented together showcasing a full image presenting the route I took, the elevation and my heart rate. This piece can also be used as a campaign used by brands such as Strava.
